PM Masrour Barzani inaugurates Middle East Peace and Security Forum in Dohuk
In the city of Dohuk, Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani inaugurated today, Tuesday, the Middle East Peace and Security Forum.
In his welcoming speech, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region described the political situation in the Middle East and Iraq as "sensitive and critical" and urged the need for all parties to cooperate to achieve stability and peace.
“I’m pleased to be in Duhok to join Middle East Peace and Security Forum this year at an important time for the Middle East, Iraq, Erbil-Baghdad relations and beyond,” Prime Minister Barzani said.
"I look forward to the exchanges today on ways to promote regional peace and stability," the prime minister added.
The Prime Minister of Kurdistan Regional Government expressed in his speech his hope to discuss the climate issue in the forum as well, saying, "For example, the water crisis can have an impact on the relationship between countries."
Prime Minister Barzani also expressed his hope that Iraq will succeed in passing the post-election period. He pointed out that the Kurdistan Region supports any peaceful initiative to solve problems.
