Today, Monday, President Masoud Barzani received in Salah al-Din, the US ambassador to Iraq, Matthew Tueller, and a delegation.

During the meeting, they discussed the political situation and the upcoming elections in Iraq, as well as the risks and challenges facing the Iraqi political process.

The US ambassador also conveyed his condolences to President Barzani for the martyrdom of the Peshmerga who were killed by PKK militants in the past, and stressed that the stability of Kurdistan Region and Iraq is of special importance and Kurdistan Region is an example of stability and revitalization compared to other parts of Iraq.

The meeting also praised the steps taken to unify and reorganize the Peshmerga and reform the Ministry of Peshmerga, as well as the establishment of coordination centers between the Kurdish Peshmerga forces and the Iraqi forces to combat the threat of terrorism.

The meeting also focused on the level of universities in the region and their efforts to promote the region's universities and their impact on the future of the Kurdistan Region.
