Prime Minister Barzani met the Prime Minister of Belgium
The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, met, on Wednesday, with the Prime Minister of Belgium, Alexandre de Croo.
During the meeting, they discussed developments in relations between the Kurdistan Region and Belgium and the situation in Iraq in general. Security issues and obstacles in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq and the region were also discussed.
The two sides agreed on the importance of maintaining communication and coordination on issues of common concern.
The Belgian Prime Minister praised the Kurdistan Region, describing it as a living and influential region, and expressed his country's readiness to support the Kurdistan Region. He said we can cooperate in the field of agriculture with the Kurdistan Regional Government.
The Belgian Prime Minister stressed the importance of resolving the outstanding issues between the regional government and the federal government, and stated that he is in contact with the prime minister of the federal government.
The Prime Minister thanked the Belgian support for continuing cooperation with the Peshmerga in the fight against ISIS within the framework of the international coalition.
He stressed the importance of security coordination between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government in fighting ISIS threats.
In another focus of the meeting, preventive measures and the vaccination process against the Corona virus were also discussed. Both stressed the need to provide vaccinations to both the residents of the Kurdistan region and the refugees living in the region.
