SDF Hands Over a Town Near Manbij to the Syrian Regime: Report
ERBIL - The Syrian regime forces have entered the country's region of Manbij in coordination with the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) to prevent the expected Turkish operation against the Kurdish forces in the area.

The PYD leaders have reached an agreement with the Syrian government on the army deployment, after which, 40 pickup trucks carrying regime forces, two tanks, trucks carrying equipment and armored vehicles carrying other staff made an entrance into Arimah town in the western countryside of Manbij," Anadolu Agency cited locals who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Earlier the day, BasNews, citing a reliable source, revealed that Russia has suggested to the council of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to hand over the border Arab residential areas, including Deir ez-Zor, Raqa, Hassaka, and Manbij to the Syrian Regime in order for the country's forces to prevent the Turkish army from overrunning the territories.

He added that, based on Russia's suggestion, the regime troops and PYD will together be responsible for the control of the Kurdish residential territories.

However, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirmed that a delegation of the PYD has earlier last week met with Russian officials in Moscow to discuss the matter.
