ERBIL — A total number of 78 Kurdish porters have been killed or injured on the Iranian border with Kurdistan Region in the past three months, according to a report.

From the total number, 16 porters were killed by Iranian border guards and two others by landmine explosions, Hangaw organization for human rights reported.

Six other porters were killed in natural disasters in the mountainous areas while another one died in a car accident.

The report detailed that 53 other porters were injured within the same period, 50 of whom suffered injuries after coming under the fire of the Iranian border guards.
