Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (cabinet.gov.krd) – Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani received an Indian industrial, investment, and health delegation accompanied by Ambassador to Iraq Pradeep Singh Rajpurohit and Consul-General to the Kurdistan Region Chandramouli Kumar.

The delegation highlighted investment opportunities in the Kurdistan Region, and expressed their desire to establish strong relations with traders and other economic players in the Kurdistan Region, as well as to invest in various sectors. They wished to further strengthen relations between India and the Kurdistan Region.

Prime Minister Barzani said the Kurdistan Regional Government welcomes Indian companies to the Kurdistan Region, and expressed his government's willingness to offer services and facilities to advance their economic activities. He noted the Indian companies in the Kurdistan Region are successfully running businesses and implementing projects.

The situation in Iraq and issues in the greater region were also discussed.

Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani met the Special Adviser and Head of the International Investigative Team on crimes committed by the Islamic State organisation in Iraq, Karim Asad Ahmad Khan and his accompanying delegation.

Mr. Ahmad Khan described the work and activities of his team working with the assistance of the Iraqi Government and the Kurdistan Regional Government.

He pointed to the road map which has been developed to carry out tasks within the framework of decisions and recommendations of the UN Security Council to collect and document ISIS’ crimes, as well as achieving justice and convicting ISIS terrorists.

Prime Minister Barzani expressed appreciation for the start of the Investigative team's activities. He stressed that the Kurdistan Regional Government will provide all necessary assistance and facilities to the Investigative team.
