Prime Minister Barzani meets U.S. Special Envoy
Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (cabinet.gov.krd) - Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani met with the U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Counter ISIS Brett McGurk, U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Douglas Silliman, U.S. Consul-General to the Kurdistan Region Steven Fagin, and their accompanying delegation.

They discussed the latest political developments in Iraq, formation of the new Iraqi government, support of the Kurdistan Region political parties for the Iraqi government, relations between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad, and ongoing talks among Kurdistan’s political parties to form the Kurdistan Regional Government’s new cabinet.

Prime Minister Barzani highlighted the continued discussion among the Kurdistan Region’s political parties towards forming a new cabinet of Kurdistan Regional Government. He said the new cabinet will be composed of the main political parties.

Other topics related to the greater region and bilateral relations were also discussed.
