KDP-PUK Meeting: Yet to Reach Agreement over Next Government
ERBIL — Delegations from the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) met in Sulaymaniyah on Tuesday to once again discuss about the formation of the new cabinet.

According to a joint statement issued by the parties, they are yet to reach a final agreement over the issue.

However, the statement described the talks as “productive”.

Hemin Hawrami, head of KDP parliamentary faction who also attended the meeting, wrote on his Twitter feed: “As the KDP negotiation team we held an open, frank and constructive talk with the PUK delegation. We urged the importance of forming the cabinet as soon as possible to embark on reform packages, strengthening our institutions and working together on an inclusive base.”
