International Community Could Provide More Aid to IDPs, Refugees: Barzani
ERBIL - The international community could provide more assistance to the IDPs and Syrian refugees based in the Kurdistan Region, Kurdish prominent leader and former president of the Kurdistan Region said on Tuesday.

The Kurdish influential leader made the remarks during a meeting with the Lebanese Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil in Erbil on Tuesday evening, where Barzani reminded that Kurdistan Region is an excellent example of modern coexistence in the region while the Kurdish nation does not allow any discriminations in the community.

The Lebanese official underlined the role of Peshmerga forces and people of Kurdistan Region in the fight against the Islamic State (IS) in the past few years.

He also thanked the region to have facilitated the country's companies in Kurdistan Region, reiterating Lebanon's support to further strengthen the political, economic, and cultural ties between the sides.

The Lebanese official, accompanied by a delegation, arrived in Kurdistan Region's Erbil province on Tuesday evening, where they were welcomed by Interior Minister Karim Shingali.
