Iraqi Parliament Condemns Nineveh Governor Insulting Teacher on Videotape
ERBIL — A number of Iraqi lawmakers have condemned Nineveh Governor Nawfal Hamadi’s “inappropriate behavior” towards a local teacher in his own office.

Earlier this week, a video went viral on Iraqi social media in which the governor appears angrily speaking to a teacher and insulting him for allegedly physically punishing students at school.

Hamadi threatens the teacher to be transferred to another school in Ba’aaj as a punishment without having the reports investigated.

He asks the person behind the camera to record him “while insulting” the teacher.

MPs from Nineveh province condemned Hamadi’s behavior in a statement, saying it was “insulting not only a teacher, but the entire educational institutions”.

They called on the provincial council to investigate the governor’s “inappropriate behavior” or they will take the case to a parliamentary session.
