ERBIL — Prominent Kurdish leader and former president of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, on Sunday.

Barzani and Bin Zayed reviewed the latest political and security situation in the region, with the focus remaining on Barzani’s trip to Baghdad last week where he met with top Iraqi leaders.

Bin Zayed, who also serves as Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE's Armed Forces, welcomed the developments in the relations between Erbil and Baghdad, noting that his country is ready to help both sides overcome the obstacles.

Barzani was accompanied by Masrour Barzani, the Chancellor of Kurdistan Region Security Council (KRSC) and a politburo member of Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP).
