Peshmerga hope for medical help in visit to Hungary
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – Representatives of the Peshmerga Ministry will travel to Hungary on Sunday where they plan to ask for medical support for a specialized hospital currently under construction, an official confirmed.

"This evening, a high level delegation from our ministry will travel to Hungary. The visit follows an official invitation from Hungary. The delegation will meet with the Hungarian defense minister and his deputy and the country's army chief of staff," Brig. Gen. Hazhar Omer, head of cooperation and relations for the ministry, told Rudaw.

The delegation will be in Hungary for four days. They hope to benefit from Hungary’s expertise in military medicine.

"In the near future, with the help of Germany, we will open the Peshmerga Hospital. Therefore, in this visit, our delegation will ask for assistance for this hospital," Omer said.

Hungary is a member of the US-led global coalition against ISIS. It is playing a role in the Peshmerga Ministry's training centre and has assisted the Peshmerga in the fight against the militant group.

At least 12 wounded Peshmerga have received medical treatment in Hungary.
