KRG Delegation Visiting Baghdad to Discuss Budget
ERBIL — A delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) is visiting Baghdad today (17 November) to discuss the budget bill of 2019, including the share of Erbil.

According to the information obtained by BasNews, the delegation will attempt to increase KRG’s share from the federal budget. Baghdad has granted Erbil 12% of the budget while, according to the constitution of Iraq, the Kurds should receive 17%.

The special budget for Peshmerga forces of Kurdistan, who are part of Iraq’s armed forces structure, is also on the agenda.

It comes a day after Erbil and Baghdad reached a milestone agreement to resume the oil exports from the disputed province of Kirkuk.

Following of a period of political deadlock in the relations between Erbil and Baghdad, the sides seem now to make progress in restoring close cooperations, especially in the field of economy and energy.
