ERBIL — Kurdish leader Masoud Barzani received on Saturday the well-known novelist from Syrian Kurdistan, Jan Dost, to praise the role of the intellectual in taking the Kurdish cause forward.

During the meeting, Dost highlighted Barzani’s leadership for the past few decades, saying that the Kurds from the four parts of Kurdistan are optimistic about their future under Barzani’s leadership.

The Kurdish leader, who served previously as the president of Kurdistan Region, said that the enemies of Kurdistan resort to every strategy to harm the spirit of Kurds and their courageous efforts for freedom while some “pseudo-intellectuals” help the damages.

Barzani highlighted the contribution that Jan Dost and many other intellectuals have made to keep the Kurdish language, culture, and the spirit of freedom alive.
