Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (cabinet.gov.krd) - Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani received the Australian Ambassador to Iraq Ms. Joanne Loundes and her accompanying delegation.

Ambassador Loundes congratulated Prime Minister Barzani on the success of the Iraqi Kurdistan Parliament electoral process. She hoped efforts to form both the new Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Regional Government will be successful and that security and stability will prevail throughout the country.

She referred to service projects and humanitarian assistance provided by her country to areas liberated from ISIS and hoped for KRG cooperation on implementation. She also expressed her country's willingness to further develop bilateral ties.

Prime Minister Barzani expressed his government's readiness to cooperate and coordinate on implementing humanitarian assistance projects supported by the Australian Government. He also hoped hoped for further strengthening bilateral relations.

Other issues pertaining to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region and to the greater region were also discussed.
