ERBIL — Prominent Kurdish leader and the president of Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Masoud Barzani, has reiterated that his party will spare no effort to bring about the total rule of law in the Kurdistan Region.

“We have a few days left until the significant election on 30 September. If the KDP makes a great success again, we will make a great change and landmark reform,” Barzani said at a huge election rally in Sulaymaniyah.

“The promise that we make is that we will be honest with you.”

The KDP president pointed out that his party will continue its efforts to establish the full rule of law after the election in hopes of preserving the right of every individual in the Kurdistan Region.

He also reminded that the last parliamentary election of Iraq proved that the KDP is the voice of the majority in Kurdistan, and it seeks a better future for all.

On the disputes between Kurdistan and Iraq, Barzani said the Kurds have always wished for a mutual understanding, and they are looking forward to bringing about a peaceful solution to the disagreements.

“However, it doesn’t mean that we will ever retreat from our ultimate goals,” he added.
