Al-Shahristani to visit Kurdistan Region on revenue, oil disputes
KRG disagrees with the proposed law draft of the 2014 state budget since it contains acts that are seen as punishments for KRG, such as Iraq`s demand of KRG to export 400 thousand oil barrels on a daily basis.
The disputes led Kurdish MP in the Iraqi Parliament to boycott parliament meetings. Despite that, the first hearing of the revenue law draft was conducted with 164 MPs attending on March 16.
For now, the parliament has initiated a triple committee including representatives from Kurdish, Sunni, and Shiite blocs of parliament as an attempt to suppress the quarrels.
