Kurdistan Parliament approves first article of bill regarding care for persons with special needs
The Kurdistan Parliament held a regular session chaired by Dr. Kamal Kirkuki , President of the Parliament, Dr. Arsalan Baiz, Vice-President of the Parliament, and Mr. Firsat Ahmed, Secretary of the Parliament on December 27, 2011.
The agenda set aside time for discussion of five draft laws to be presented by the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, Mr. Asos Najib, and the Co-ordinator between the KRG and the Parliament, Mr. Sa’ad Khalid.

Before starting the session’s agenda, the Committee proposed postponement of discussion on the draft laws until the joint report from the Parliamentary Committees could be prepared. This proposal was approved and the session was adjourned until the afternoon.

When the session re-convened in the afternoon, the joint report of the Parliamentary Committees was presented. MPs debated the draft laws. The first article of the bill regarding care for persons with special needs was approved. Following discussion of the second article, the Parliament session was adjourned. Discussion will continue when Parliament re-convenes December 28, 2011.
